We are looking for 2 enthusiastic and collaborative school leaders who still want to teach and take Te Rā Waldorf School into the future with a unique co-principal leadership structure.
We are proud of our special character surrounding the children in a collaborative, ‘Whole Village’ of teachers, staff and whānau. We have a strong team of passionate and dedicated teachers delivering a rich, carefully chosen Waldorf curriculum.
The ideal applicants will have proven experience in an educational leadership role and the ability to apply knowledge and understanding of the Waldorf curriculum in the context of Aotearoa/New Zealand and while previous Waldorf experience is not a prerequisite, a commitment to work in accordance with the special character of the school shall be a condition of employment.
It is important that applicants understand Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and a commitment to exploring what authentic bicultural education can look like in Waldorf education in Aotearoa in the 21st century.
If you are a strong and energetic strategic leader who relishes the opportunity to further grow Waldorf education on the beautiful Kapiti Coast, we’d love to hear from you.
School visits or a remote tour would be most welcome and requests to do so can be directed to the Board of Trustees Chair.
The job description includes detail of the co-principal structure and is available with the application pack. Applicants can apply for a 0.8 FTE or 0.3 FTE role (or advise of interest in both).
Both principal role splits have teaching elements. However, the 0.3 FTE teaching responsibilities will depend on vacancies (there is some minor flexibility possible) and distribution of responsibilities will be dependent on successful applicants.
